I treat programming languages as a tool to help me do science, a tool that I sometimes abuse. I’d link my GitHub as proof, but I haven’t updated it in forever because I forget to use it. My variable names are often non-descriptive, and I’ve been known to use for loops when I should vectorize. When real programmers complain about “scientists trying to code,” they’re complaining about me.
