Su Zhang

Biography:

My name is Su Zhang and I am a Ph.D. student with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico. In addition, I am also pursuing a master’s degree in the Department of Geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Science (GIS). When I was pursuing my master’s degree in Civil Engineering, my research topic is the application of GIS in conceptual construction cost estimate. With the help of GIS, I developed and validated a few new location adjustment methods and then identified which could greatly improve the accuracy of conceptual cost estimate. Since then, I was completely attracted by geospatial knowledge and techniques and made a decision to pursue another master’s degree in Geography. With regard to my research interest, I am greatly interested in application of Remote Sensing and GIS techniques in post-disaster infrastructure loss assessment.
