LP DAAC Product Lifecycle Plan In Action

Abstract:

The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) Product Lifecycle Plan establishes a framework to guide the movement of Science Data Products from Inception to Active Archive, and ultimately to Long Term Preservation. Inception activities and artifacts are required to move a Data Product from initial development to the state of maturity necessary to become a standard LP DAAC Product. Active Archive activities and artifacts are required to make a new Product available to the community at standard service levels for access, documentation, and support. Long Term Preservation activities and artifacts are required to move a product from Active Archive status to service levels associated with long term storage and access.
