The Environmental Data Initiative

Abstract:

The Environmental Data Initiative is an NSF-funded project which accelerates curation and archive of environmental data, emphasizing data from projects funded by the NSF Division of Environmental Biology. These projects are typically place-based, and broad in scope - such as the ecosystem-level projects funded by the MacroSystems or Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) programs - or are targeted extensions of existing long-term collections, such as projects in the Long-Term Research in Environmental Biology (LTREB) program. EDI leverages the decades of experience in the LTER network, and is distributed among personnel located at the University of Wisconsin, University of New Mexico, and UC Santa Barbara.
